Letter from the Owner
Dear Valued Customer,
My name is Joshua M. McMinn and I am the owner and founder of McMinn Company, LLC. I was born and raised a few minutes south of Asheville in a little town called Fletcher. Centrally located in the heart of Western North Carolina my love for the mountains, its people and its allure started at a young age.
I was raised from humble beginnings by a family of builders responsible for over 2000 homes locally. My evenings, weekends and summers were spent on a jobsite gaining the knowledge and work ethics that I hold so dearly within my own company.
From there I set out to find my own direction, studying the nuclear engineering field and proudly serving aboard a United States submarine, the USS Oklahoma City. This time in my life laid the foundation for my commitment to proper management, implementation effective scheduling and understanding for the need of professionalism in business. Following my time in the US Navy; I worked in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and New Jersey as an Applications Engineer in the commercial and industrial construction fields. Eventually I found my way back to my grass roots of residential construction here in Western North Carolina.
Now my wife and I are raising our three wonderful children here just as we were raised. My free time is spent with my family, woodworking, trout fishing, camping, hiking, boating and studying historical architecture.
I run McMinn Company, LLC differently than most, utilizing the 'hands on' approach. I stay with my projects from the first meeting, the quoting process, supervising on-site while working alongside my employees, all the way through to the punch-out list. This is the only way a builder can assure their customer that they are receiving 100%. Building is more than just a job or career to me, it’s a lifelong passion. I pride myself in being a problem solver and enjoy looking back on a hard day's work to see what I've accomplished. I look forward to working
